I was unable to finish my order download, or have lost my fonts due to a computer crash. Can I get my order again? Yes. After ordering online, you should have received an email receipt with a link back to your order. If you still have that receipt, go back to your order link and download you fonts again. If you no longer have your receipt, contact us and provide the name used on the order, and the approximate order date. Please follow these installation instructions exactly and let us know which number you get stuck on if you need more help: 1. If you are downloading your fonts, save them in an easy to remember folder such as the Desktop or My Documents. If you receive them in an an email, save the attachments as mentioned above. If they are on a CD, open the CD contents by double-clicking the My Computer icon on your desktop and choose the CD drive. 2. Open the folder you saved the files to. If you saved to the Desktop you'll find the files on your computer desktop with all your other icons. Double-click on each individual font file, click OK after reading the introduction, and click the Unzip button. You will get a message saying "1 (or more if it's a bundle) file unzipped successfully." 3. Click Close and repeat for all of your font files. Now that you've unzipped all your files, it's time to install them into your Windows Fonts folder. 4. Go to Start-Settings-Control Panel. (It's just Start-Control Panel for Windows XP.) Open the Fonts folder and select File-Install New Font. 5. Make sure C is selected as your drive letter under Drives. 6. To the left, under Folders, DOUBLE-CLICK the C:\ folder at the top of the list, then scroll down to the folder called LDFonts and DOUBLE-CLICK on it. 7. When the fonts appear in the list above, click Select All then OK. If you want to choose specific fonts to install, hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard as you click on individual fonts, then click OK. You'll now find all of your new fonts in your word processor with all your other fonts such as Arial or Times New Roman. When I go to Start-Settings-Control Panel-Fonts, I don't have the Install New Font option under the File menu. Why not? The Install New Font command in the Windows/fonts folder can be disabled if certain system files on your computer are missing or damaged. Try enabling it again by doing the following: Click Start, Run, and type in the box: Attrib +S C:\Windows\Fonts and click OK. Then restart the computer, and go back to the font folder and try again.
Why do I get a setup screen when trying to unzip or install my fonts? If you get a blue setup screen when trying to unzip your fonts, this is because the file is actually a color alphabet and is being installed into your LD Supreme program (if the file name begins with a_) or into your Creative Lettering program (if the file name begins with ldf_). When the setup is complete, restart your CK or LD Supreme program and you'll find the color alphabet in your list. Why do a get a message saying I need the LD Supreme or CK Program before I can install my font? This is because you are trying to install a color alphabet, which can only be used in the CK or LD Supreme program. If you bought any color alphabet that begins with the letter a_ or ldf_, and you do not have the required lettering software already installed, the setup file will tell you so. A free version of the LD Supreme software can be downloaded from the LetteringDelights.com website. CK software can be purchased from the same site. I signed up for the newsletter, but did not get any notice of how to receive my free fonts. How do I get them? You should have received and automatic email from our website with the information on how to receive your free fonts. If you did not, please contact us and we will assist you. I ordered a CD, but still saw the option to download my fonts. Am I going to receive a CD in the mail? Yes. The download option is simply a regular part of our order confirmation page. You can download all or some of your fonts is you like. Otherwise, your CD is in the mail and will arrive shortly. Which programs do the fonts on the website work in? The black and white fonts work in your word processor, in the CK Journalettes, and on the LD Supreme print page using the text box tool. The color alphabets work only in the LD Supreme or CK Creative Lettering programs. The product profile on the website for each font or alphabet will help you determine which program that particular font or alphabet is for. What's the difference between a color alphabet and a TrueType font? The difference is in the file format and the way in which the computer uses it. All TrueType fonts install into your System's fonts folder. All programs on your computer that can use TrueType fonts, such as your word porcessor, email program, card creator, etc., all look in the same fonts folder to pick and use a TrueType font. If a font is not installed in the fonts folder, your programs will not find them. Color alphabets, on the other hand, are made of individual graphics files that our browser software strings together to create words or phrases. These image files do not install into your System's font folder, and therefore will not work in your word processor, email program, card creator, etc. They will only work in the browser software it was created for. If you want the color alphabets in other programs, you'll need to copy them from the browser software, and paste them into another program.
